It gives me immense pleasure to invite you on behalf of the 1st Kuwait Immunodermatology Update and the Organizing Committee for the Kuwait Immunodermatology Update, to be held at the Regency Hotel, Kuwait on 27th - 28th of September, 2022. It is an initiative by the AS'AD Al-Hamad Dermatology Center designed as a conference and exhibition venue hence presenting the most up-to-date scientific discoveries and practices in the varied fields of internal Medicine.
This conference will bring together international and regional senior medical professionals, distinguished scholars, government and private sector medical professionals from throughout the State of Kuwait, the Gulf Co-operation Council region and the Arabian countries who are actively involved in the field of Dermatology. The scientific forum will include oral presentations to give participants the chance to share the latest experiences and advancements in the field.

Department of Dermatology, University of Luebeck, Germany
Enno Schmidt obtained his medical degree at the University of Würzburg (Germany). He did his PhD in the Department of Biotechnology before doing residency at the Department of Dermatology at the University of Würzburg. After board exams in dermatology (in 2005) and allergology (in 2007) and his dissertation (in 2006), in 2008 he moved to the Department of Dermatology at the University of Lübeck (Germany) as clinical consultant. He became acting head of the Comprehensive Center for Inflammation Medicine (2010-2013) and in 2014 joined the board of directors at the Lübeck Institute for Experimental Dermatology in 2014.
His main research interests are in autoimmune bullous diseases focusing on translational aspects including diagnostics, pre-clinical animal models, and clinical studies.

He is the founder and director of Dermatrials Research Incorporated and Venderm Innovations in Psoriasis. International Psoriasis Council, a member of the Canadian Professors of Dermatology and the Group for Research and Assessment of Psoriasis and Psoriatic Arthritis. He represents Canada on several Global educational steering committees as well as international advisory boards. He has published many peer-reviewed manuscripts and has had posters, abstracts and lectures presented internationally.
Gil Yosipovitch, MD is a tenured Professor and Stiefel endowed Chair of Medical Dermatology at the Dr Phillip Frost Department of Dermatology at the Miller School of Medicine at University of Miami.
He is the Director of the Miami Itch Center, which focuses on chronic itch as a disease state. The center serves as an institutional hub for patient-focused care, research collaborations and interactions among investigative dermatologists, neuro- and other bio-medical scientists. Prior to joining the faculty of University of Miami, Dr. Yosipovitch was Founding Chair the Department of Dermatology at Temple University and directed the first translational, clinical and research center dedicated to the study of chronic itch in the US.
He has been awarded dozens of grants from the government, industry and private foundations to pursue his investigations into the causes and cures of diseases of the skin. He has published more than 480 articles in books and peer reviewed journals and has edited 5 books. He is the founder and past President of the International Forum for the Study of Itch and member of its board.
He served as Chairman of the Scientific Board of the National Eczema Association and member of the Scientific Board of The National Psoriasis Foundation and The International Eczema Council. He serves on the editorial boards of 6 key specialty journals.
In addition, he received one of the highest awards in dermatology, the Marion B. Sulzberger lectureship award, at the 2016 AAD meeting for his work on itch. Dr. Yosipovitch was awarded several other prestigious awards for his research including the Heinz Maurer prize by the German Dermatology Society in 1998 and the inaugural Jeff Bernhard award in the World Conference of Itch in Boston in 2013 and the highest medical award by the Wroclaw Medical University in October 2017.
During his 11 years of tenure at Wake Forest School of Medicine, he received the Clinical Investigator Award and the Friends of Students’ Award for Teacher of the Year. Dr. Yosipovitch has given more than 450 invited lectures to dermatology groups and organizations around the world and has mentored more than 40 fellows, PhD students and post-Doc fellows
